RUTAHSA's SOUTH AMERICAN TRIPS for 2010:
Feb. 2010 BOLIVIA CARNIVAL EXCURSION:
For the sixth year in a row, and for the last time, we will offer an
exciting Bolivia trip highlighting the Carnaval de Oruro--perhaps the
most authentic folkloric carnival in all South America-- and featuring the
eye-popping Salar de Uyuni, Lake Titikaka, beautiful colonial Sucre, an
adventure in a Potosi mine, and much more. Of all the trips we offer, none has
a greater cultural and scenic variety than this wonderful Bolivia excursion.
Check out the itinerary, which we have perfected over the years and which would be
difficult --if not impossible-- to improve upon: 2010 Bolivia trip. Take a look and e-mail us if you want an application.
Our 2006 Bolivia trip was recommended by Frommer's, and
our 2007 excursion also got Frommer's seal of
approval.
For June 2010 Rutahsa is offering a new itinerary combining the best of Northern
Peru with the best of Southern Peru. The northern segment includes Caral, Chavín,
Huaraz, Huaca de la Luna and Chan Chan, and the spectacular treasures of the Museum of
the Royal Tombs. The southern segment includes Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu,
along with the keshwa chaca, the last Inka suspension bridge. This amazing bridge of
straw has been featured several times in National Geographic; it has been the subject of a
NOVA special; it was part of a BBC special; recently the New York Times and the Christian
Science Monitor ran articles on it. But who will take you there? ONLY RUTAHSA! And
there's more! See for yourself-- here's the itinerary: Best of Northern and Southern Peru.
Frommer's recommends our Peru Supertrip: Frommer's review.
In addition to our June Supertrip, Rutahsa Adventures, in cooperation with the
Appalachian Mountain Club, is offering a Peru trip in May that focuses on Southern Peru:
awesome Colca Canyon, stunning Lake Titikaka, Cusco--the heart of the Inka Empire, the Sacred
Valley, and, of course, unforgettable Machu Picchu. So if the timing of our June trip doesn't
work for you, check out this wonderful itinerary featuring the most famous of all Peru's many
treasures: Treasures of Southern Peru.
Although everyone has heard of Machu Picchu and Lake Titikaka in southern
Peru, Peru's north has every bit as much to offer as the south, and even more
in some ways. There are stunning archeological sites --Caral, Chavín de
Huántar, Sechín, Huaca de la Luna, Chan Chan, Sipán,
Karajilla, Kuelap-- representing a far greater variety of pre-Columbian
cultures than found in the Inka-dominated south. There are sweeping Andean
vistas, massive ice-capped peaks and turquoise glacial lakes. There are cloud
forest covered sierras and coastal deserts. There is Peru's world-class Museum
of the Royal Tombs, with mind-boggling treasures that rival those of King Tut.
Northern Peru has so much to offer!
For 2010, Rutahsa Adventures will continue to offer its full Northern Peru excursion as a
trip for independent travelers: let us know when you want to travel and how many
will be traveling with you, and we will set the trip up just for YOU! Take a
look at the spectacular Northern Peru
itinerary.

Don't just take our word that these trips are great, look at what the
experts at Frommer's say: Frommer's on Rutahsa's Bolivia trip.
Better yet, our travelers who keep coming back for more trips are our best
recommendations:
"Your trips are a great deal, money-wise, but that is not their
best point. Best is that the travelers are all interesting folks, and Ric and
Janie plan such interesting trips with lots of local color. And you take such
good care of us!" --Stella Elakovich, two-time Rutahsa Adventures traveler,
July 2005.
